The stars in the heavens have long been used by countless civilisations as a means of navigation around the globe. This was also true of the Muslim civilisation who used them to explore the world and find the right direction for prayer where ever they are in the world. From all four corners of the globe facing in the towards the Kabbah in devotion.
Inspired by this concept and the interconnecting woven geometry of Islamic Knotwork this painting explores the relationship between the stars, the Kabah and the points of the compass.
