Lailatul Qadr (Night of Power) - Original Painting by Ian Garrett

Lailatul Qadr (Night of Power) is a painting depicting a night during Ramadan that is better than a thousand months. It is a night when sins will be forgiven for anyone who seeks forgiveness and performs acts of worship throughout the night. This night is called Lailatul Qadr. According to Hadith, this night occurs during the last ten days of Ramadan on one of the odd-numbered nights. It is usually celebrated on the 27th night of this holy month. In the Quran, it is stated:

Surah 97.  Al-Qadr.“We have indeed revealed this message in the Night of Power: And what will explain to thee what the Night of Power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months! Therein come down the angels by Allah’s permission on every errand: Peace! Until the rising of the dawn.”

It is painted in Acrylic Paint on a 16" x 12" stretched canvas.
