This new painting is inspired by a photograph of the Persian Gulf (taking in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE). The original photo was taken from the vantage point of the International Space Station.
Earth, our home in the harsh vacuum of space, provides a home for 7.53 billion people. In his glorious revelation to humanity, Allah spoke about his blessings to us.
Surat A-Anbiyyal: “Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the Earth were a joined entity, and we separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?” [21:30]
Surat A-Anbiyyal: "It is he who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon: all the celestial bodies swim along, each in its own rounded course." [21:33]
Surat Al-Nahl: “And he has made subservient for you the night and the day and the sun and the moon, and the stars are made subservient by his commandment; most surely there are signs in this for a people who ponder.” [16:12]
The Earth is Allah's gift to mankind. It is the life support system the Almighty created that makes our existence possible, without it, we could not possibly be here. In turn, it is our responsibility to take care of it.
